Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is passionate about releasing people in our nation from a life sentence of debt, poverty and its causes. There is poverty in every community. Hundreds of people are in need of free debt help. Thousands of families can benefit from budgeting and life skills. The UK Church is perfectly placed to tackle these issues.
“CAP are unsurpassed when it comes to the debt help they give people across the country.” Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.
We cover postcodes OX1, OX2, OX3, OX4, OX33 and OX44, helping lift people out of debt and poverty. Our work is being run by a consortium of four local churches and by five part-time staff.
Need help with your debt?

If you are in debt, you’ve come to the right place. Thousands of people have already been given hope and a solution. Find out more about CAP Debt Help.
We understand how difficult it can be to make that first step. What can you expect? When you call the free hotline on 0800 328 0006 you’ll speak to one of the enquiries team in Bradford who will give you an opportunity to talk in confidence about your situation. There is no obligation to take things further, but if you want to you can then be linked up with one of our Oxford debt coaches for a preliminary face-to-face session. It normally takes three meetings of going through your paperwork until you are offered one or more options for formally dealing with your debts. The service is friendly, confidential, supportive and completely free.
Need help with life skills?

Free to join, this group gives people the confidence and decision-making skills to live well, look after themselves and feel positive, even on a low income. The next group will begin 9 May 2023.
